Earth Destroyed - Women, Minorities Hardest Hit - Part 2

The Sacramento Bee -- sacbee.com -- Ethnic disparities in diabetes toll

Diabetes is afflicting California's African Americans, Latinos, American Indians and Alaska natives at rates sharply higher -- in some age groups, more than twice as high -- than the rate it strikes" whites", a comprehensive new study out today reports.

BRING ON THE UBER-BITCH!
With Democrat Presidential contenders flailing and floundering about, the big money boys (read: lawyers) are getting nervous. The leftists are enraged at Bush's triumph - four more years is anathema.

Talk about regime change - it'll be back to the future because the UBER-BITCH will run for her third term in 2004.

That's right, Her Highness Hillary will be drafted to go up against W. The Dems are that desperate.

I say bring the bitch on. The sooner she gets her ass handed to her, the better. It's time to be rid of the Clintons once and for all. Get ready for the trashiest, dirtiest, most corrupt election in American history. With Hillary in the mix, you're going to get get slime from another dimension. It will be liberalism's death croak. Hallelujah!

EARTH DESTROYED - WOMEN, MINORITIES HIT HARDEST (Part I)
The plan is for this to be a recurring feature on BEEBLOG. The Sacramento Bee includes in nearly every issue an article supporting the notion that European American males are the source of all evil, while women and so-called "minorities" simply get a raw deal from life at every turn. That's why we owe them - reparations, sympathy, special preferences, etc. Only a heartless bastard would see it any other way, especially after having been so helpfully informed every day by the BEE and other commie rags of how bad things are for these poor folks. So stay tuned for some of the more egregious examples of editorializing in the "hard news" section of the SACTOMATO BEEB.

The Sacramento Bee -- sacbee.com -- Editorial: Rescue Iraq, and the U.N.

The Bee: "Failure to agree on a broad division of labor in postwar Iraq could do further, perhaps irreparable damage to the United Nations, and thus to the international system of collective security in place since 1945. That system has been deeply wounded by U.S. unilateralism and by the changing state of affairs in the post-Cold War world."

The Truth: Good! The UN is anti-American and needs to be dismantled. Our allies know where to find us - and we don't need to attend a forum of our enemies - which is what the UN has become. American leftists want to use the UN and what they define as "world opinion" to destroy American sovereignty and to merge into internationalism. This is a rare opportunity for Bush to achieve a major victory over several enemies - the American left, the UN, and Saddam's allies France and Russia. By keeping the UN out of Iraq, establishing a strong military presence, and canceling Iraq's debts to France and Russia, America will achieve a major step in ridding the world of terrorism. Nations like France, Russia, and Germany will realize that supporting terrorist nations like Iraq is a losing investment. American leftists will be put on notice that their treason will not be tolerated.

In the same editorial, the leftists at the Bee are setting us up for another "failure" - the "failure" to change Iraq from a rabble of bloodthrsty thugs into a model democracy. Forget it. Kill the terrorists - that's mission #1. Dismantle the WMD factories - mission #2. Establish military bases for future strikes against Islamic terrorists: mission #3. Democratize Iraq? Sorry, not our job. It may have been Bush's cover to get backing for the real mission, but we don't need to fool anybody any longer. Whether the crowds cheer or not is of no significance. The fact that Islamicists hate America is a testimony to the triumph of civilization over savagery.

Every year at this time we are reminded of an injustice that persists against all logic - America's tax system. It's a testimony of some sort that people haven't risen up and turned Washington DC into a smoldering wasteland.

Not only are we Americans grossly overtaxed, we are treated with contempt by the tax code and those responsible for it - Congress and the IRS. In California, we are further humiliated by a state system that, incredibly enough, rivals the federal system in sheer maddening incomprehensibility.

We have a saying - "you get what you pay for". But in America, we pay high taxes and get almost nothing for it. A lot of people talk about "progressive" tax rates and "regressive' tax rates. Here's how I define these terms. People who live off the taxpayer should pay more taxes than those who are productive and don't live off the taxpayer. Those who take from the government should pay for it. That's progressive. What's regressive is to saddle productive people with carrying a lot of freeloaders. That's regressive. Sales taxes and lotteries are progressive forms of taxation - they hit the tax eaters, and that's as it should be.

All legitimate government activity at every level could easily be financed by a total tax burden of around ten per cent of GDP. That's the goal we should be shooting for. We need significant and continuous tax reductions until we get to that level.

Taxes should be assessed at a uniform, simple, and unavoidable rate of around ten per cent. No deductions for any reason. No graduated rates, no fancy schedules. One rate.
It's not rocket science. Even legislators should be able to figure it out.

Congress and state legislatures need to stop trying to be clever and start thinking about the interests of the people paying the bills. Until this happens I will not look upon Congress or legislatures as our friend. In other words, I put them on the same side of the line as the recently departed Mr. Hussein.

This is a serious issue. Congress needs to do something about it. For starters, get rid of double taxation of profits, and get rid of the alternate minimum tax.
